Humble Submission to God

Make no great account of who may be for you or against you, but mind and take care that God may be with you in everything you do. Have a good conscience, and God will adequately defend you. For he whom God will help, no man's malice can hurt.

Remember the words of the prophet Jeremiah,

Then said Jeremiah, "O Lord, my strength and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of distress and need"...

[Jeremiah 16:19a]

The psalmist sings in Psalm 16,

“Keep me safe, my God, for in You I take refuge.”

[Psalm 16:1]

The psalmist sings in Psalm 119,

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

[Psalm 119:105]

Sometimes we struggle with dilemma while making tough decisions and life choices. It is always good to surrender ourselves to God and He will liberate us, since He is our only refuge at all times. It is for our good that we renounce dependence on mortal things as our refuge in times of distress. Surrender exclusively to God, our father. This exclusive surrender is strengthened by the fact that He is trustworthy and always faithful.

Give up dependence on mortal worldly things and seek refuge in Him alone. Do not fear or be doubtful, thinking over the past or future. Be sure to pray to know the will of God for your life and always remember that “You are exclusively His”. This means that you have no desire at all to receive anything from anyone. As Psalm 103:15 says, men are like grass that perishes in a day. It will be sinful to put trust in men rather than submission to God.

We can argue, “How can anyone who expects things from others follow God?” That man becomes a slave of the things he wished for. The one who desires to get prosperity from God is not a true follower of God, instead he is a slave of wealth and property. Therefore, anyone who truly trust and follows God with all their heart, mind and soul should be free of worldly desire and seek refuge in God alone. Chanting the promises of God or just the holy name of God at all times will strengthen your inner-self and help you stabilize your relationship with God.

The book of proverb makes this point crystal clear,

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.

[Proverbs 3:5-6]

Under the influence of the Holy Spirit, you must submit yourself confidently to God. He will guide to the path of righteousness. Just as a potter shapes the clay into a beautiful earthen vessel, God will shape your future according to His will for you. In Him you will find true peace.

 Amen+
